The Executive Committee serves as the principal governing body responsible for ensuring the implementation of the decisions adopted by the General Assembly and for overseeing the day-to-day strategic management of the Association. Accountable to the General Assembly, it is composed of the President, the Vice-President, and five members elected by the Assembly to represent the different regions of the African continent. The Executive Committee acts as the operational link between the General Assembly and the Secretariat, translating the Association's policies and resolutions into concrete actions. Its responsibilities include reviewing and making recommendations on matters referred to it by the General Assembly, considering proposals submitted by members and the Secretariat, and supervising the implementation of adopted decisions. In addition, the Committee exercises important financial and administrative oversight functions by approving the Association's annual budget, examining audit reports, approving the Secretariat's internal regulations, and establishing mechanisms to monitor its financial management. Meeting at least once a year, with the possibility of extraordinary sessions convened by the Chairperson, the Executive Committee plays a central role in ensuring the effective governance, accountability, and institutional continuity of the Association.
